that's the problem i think. try it without -advmethods, and you should see a huge gain

Normally I get ilife and maybe iwork (I not going to buy iwork until they have a spreadsheet program now! They are not that expensive an so just small gifts to my slef. whilst I may get an iPhone, its a lot of money and so were the other items released. I don't have an HD TV and I just go a N router! and have only recently (august) entered a mobile contract for 18 months so I won't have an iPhone for at least a couple of years

Put me down in the, "I'll believe it when I see it" crowd. Getting decent battery life out of anything with a 0.3W radio transmitter in it is difficult -- unless you don't use it to actually talk to anyone, or put in a large battery. "Ye cannae change the laws o' physics!" :D

We were in Ireland last year and shocked at how much advertising there was for Bud. The story of it being so popular in Ireland was that Budweiser was advertising the heck out of it and trying to paint Guinness as an "old man's beer" and Budweiser as the hip, young, sporty drink.
As for not liking beers? tsk tsk... It just means you haven't tried the right one.
Personally, I wouldn't serve Bud to my worst enemy. Then again, I'm spoiled. My local beer store stocks 800+ brews from around the world. I've had some amazing ones (Alley Kat - Kilt Lifter is a fave from my home town) and some horrible ones (A brew we had while vacationing in Botswana that I'm glad I can't remember the name of)

More like they merged the viewer to also act as your media bin. We haven't been shown enough effects yet to really see what role the new viewer will play in adjusting/managing that aspect of it. It looks like most of the "basic Motion" controls are being handled in the Canvas with simple location sensitive mouse controls, for better or worse.Im glad the viewer is gone. Im hoping for a viewer/canvas split into two separate displays option :)

On the MacBook Pros the graphics connection was downgraded from PCIe x16 to PCIe x8 to get PCIe lanes for the TBolt controller.
Have the teardowns or other info shown whether that's the case for the Imacs?

My Macbook is now 10 degrees C warmer, and I can really feel the difference. A subtle whine is coming from the top left side of the computer as well. I can't see how this would be an upgrade to anything when everything was better before the update.
My Macbook is also about 10 degree's warmer (@ 52C) but I'm not hearing any whines though.

It doesn't matter if this really isn't a security threat. Once it hits the 24 hour cable news networks and is recycled every 10 minutes as a story, Apple's reputation has been tarnished. To stop that Apple should come out with a FREE patch as soon as possible so that Apple's reaction will be added to the news story. It's not about security; it's about publicity.
Well, it hit CNN yesterday and will probably ripple across the other cable networks this weekend. The question is whether anyone except rabid Apple fans or haters will remember this story past Monday. I'm guessing that's what Apple's PR people are trying to figure out this afternoon.
Do they admit that they made a mistake and release a patch?
Do they rebut the story by pointing out the absurdity of trying to track someone every 60 feet?
Do they just ignore the story and hope that people (and the media) forget about it by Monday?
It'll be interesting to see how they decide to react.

I haven't... only single GPU setups for me. I'd probably go with a GT120+4000 combo.Ive seen some frankenstein setups using multiple GPUs on the PC side but never heard of it on Mac.

I personally do not understand the strong desire by some for a white phone over a black one. The specs should be the same short of the post I saw about the delay possibly due to camera issue and light being absorbed. Is the idea of white more "mac like" as its the color of many apple products? It works the same? I got some white epoxy here might do the trick :)
