In some cases, yes.
Which ones? Do tell. Are non-Muslims not allowed to drink alcohol? Are non-Muslims forced to perform obeisance five times a day?
Why should you know? You'd have to ask her, not that it's any of your business. Who knows if "the male" in Western cultures actually wants to wear a suit and tie?
Are you arguing for argument's sake? I don't know what you are getting at here...

Hopefully this is just a short term supply and demand thing. There probably aren't enough to go around currently for both institutional and individual purchases, especially if they just received a few large institutional orders. Once inventory ramps back up on them, hopefully they'll be available again for purchase by education individuals.

Oh, there's no doubt we've lost The Ashes. So well done to England. They were certainly the better team. However, I think England should play to win this one. They're playing it a little safe now.
Get Australia in and destroy them. Big hitting and lots of wickets in a few hours. That would be cricket!
Yeah come-on Vaughan you can declare now and we can have some 20:20 style action....... It's 8 an over required now!

Been waiting for a white iPhone 4 since day one. So glad that it will finally be released. Can't figure out why everyone here seems to hate on it.

Nope, your device is no longer supported by apple.
That's not a good argument. You forget that this is not a feature. It's a matter of privacy and how iOS uses your data.
So, to me, Apple must give a fix to 3G users too. They can send iPhone 3G users a 4.2.2 for example.
No longer supported means never patched or upgraded again no matter the reason.

I built a new system with a gigabyte x58a-ud3 and stock cooler, which is massive. It can handle 2 x16 cards, I probably didn't need all that ram though for a single cpu and I already had a 650 psu but if that isn't enough power I will have to swap the 480 into one of the other systems which have 1200 watt psu's.
I have one more 650 psu that I want to use this fall for another build so that I can put the 275 gpu's into the 650 psu builds and 2 each 400 class gpu's into the 1200 watt machines, does that make sense? Anyway I will end up with: 2 builds with 650 watt psu's and 4 gtx 275 gpu's and 2 builds with 1200 watt psu's with 4 400 class gpu's.
My goal is to reach 1 million points per week!
oh ok. so you will primary fold with just 4 systems, or 5?
right now i have 4 primary systems that i'm folding with, and i would love to build another, but not right now with the heat. maybe when it gets colder. sometimes i wish i had a basement to put them!
just so you know, you can fold with a 200 series and 400 series gpu in the same system. it took a little for me to get it to work, but it does.
let us know when you start building another rig. and how the overclock is coming!

IMO Apple built this giant datacenter in order to launch its own search engine to compete with Google. Why ?
1) When Google launched Android, S. Jobbs became furious, saying that Apple respected Google and didn't try to go on the search market. He was calling for revenge. Soon after, Apple started to build this data center.
2) Google is now a strong competitor to Apple, and Apple isn't free to not use (yet) Google's services, like their search engine, Google Maps and so on. Clearly, Apple can't consider that with an happy heart.
3) This new datacenter is really much too big for just handling the few things rumors talked about : MobileME, video, etc. It's obvious they are watching bigger.
How do you monetize Revenge?

I just back from Best Buy after pre-ordering an iphone 4. There were 4 models to choose from, White or Black, 16gb or 32gb. There was a $50 deposit, for which I received a BB gift card which will be used when I pick up the phone, and I now have an scheduled appointment at BB so I'm guaranteed to get it on the release date - plus, I won't have to wait in any lines when I get there.
Prior to going to BB, I tried to order a phone online through Apple as well as AT&T. The Apple website got stuck at the point where I selected the phone I wanted. The AT&T website did not show the iPhone 4 as an option. Don't bother calling AT&T to try an order the new iphone - they will not take your order and will just refer you somewhere else.
How did you secure an appointment to get set up? Which color did you get? I preordered 2 white iPhones 1st at the local Best Buy, but they weren't able to set an appointment for receiving and setting up the iPhone but said they'll call me "soon" to set one up.

The torrented MPEG-4 or H264 saved movies of the Keynotes that I have seen were captured using
screenshot-apps such as Snapz Pro. They usually weigh-in at approx. 160 MB for 90 minutes.
It usually takes a couple days for these to appear on Bit Torrent networks;
presumably the person doing the recording must wait for the stream traffic to
die down enough to get a clean, uninterrupted stream to work with.
At least that's my understanding of it...

i seriously effing hope it's more than improvements to file sync'ing, spotlight, and virtual desktops. that's pathetic. we need a revolutionary OS revision.
I was just going to say the EXACT same thing! You said it perfectly, whenpaulsparks! That's right, I don't want to see Steve Jobs demo some new Spotlight/Sherlock. I want to see revolutionary, fricken awsome, Vista-crushing, earth shaking features, a totally revamped and polished GUI, Enterprise features, etc. Come on Apple! Don't dissapoint me!

I love mac, I hate PC but I actually like PC guy more.
I had heard that they were no longer doing the commercials for exactly this reason, people liked the PC guy and felt bad for him. Guess I heard wrong.

What and where is RADAR?
Radar is Apple's internal bug tracking system (has been since 1991, iirc).
<edit>
The known issues list there is pretty harsh... sounds like lots of half done changes to me :)

I could see this happening. A big keynote at WWDC would be hard on Steve Jobs' health, so this gives him a "smaller" stage to work on (though it's still big news). Steve did do the iPad 2 intro, so it's likely that he would do iPhone 5 as well.
If iOS 5 is indeed previewed at WWDC, then an iPhone announcement 4 weeks later and a launch 6-8 weeks later (mid-July or end-July) would give developers about 2 months, which is consistent with what we've seen in the past. And it doesn't have to be June for iPhones, the 3G went on sale July 11, 2008 (my last day at Apple Retail - out with a bang!)

The difference compared to the old one is to small. I assume that many iMac users with an iMac 2007/2008/2009/2010 don't buy a new one.
The only thing worth upgrading from the 11,3 generation is the video card if your a heavy gamer and if there's any games coming out in the near future for the Mac that can take the extra speed boost, unless you bootcamp. Besides that, maybe thunderbolt if someone actually has some use for it or really wants triple displays (which would be cool).
If your sitting on the core2quads/duo models, it would be worth the upgrade though. The processor upgrade in the new 27 inch line is just a marginal upgrade from the 27 inch core i7 2.93ghz 11,3 generation. Faster, but nothing major that warrants a $2,800 after tax/shipping/new apple care upgrade.

A muslim state is what israel would become if all the palestinians were given citizenship, and that simply can't happen, it would be very dangerous. I do know what i'm defending, the right for israel not to become an arab country. You can say the jewish majority there is artificial, but so was the christian population in north america a couple hundred years ago, they also brought boat loads of settlers from around the world, look how that turned out.
It can certainly be a secular democracy, where the Muslims, Christians (yes there are Christian Palestinians as well) and Jews live together. it doesn't necessarily have to be a Muslim state. But again that is beside the point. They could be Christians or athiests or secularists as well, but the ideology behind Israel simply won't allow the majority population to not be Jewish. I'm not sure if you're defending that ideology.

These threads drive me crazy... the OP has not defined what state (or country) they are in and whether or not he or she is a MINOR under state law. So, much of the "they can / can't do this" is baseless...
Schools certainly appear to have the legal right to confiscate and temporarily hold items in most states as long as they have clear published rules regarding confiscation and established procedures for the care and return of pupils' property. In most locations schools do become legally responsible for the equipment in question while they are in custody of it, and are responsible for its safekeeping. Damage to confiscated equipment is usually covered under the schools insurance policy.
If the poster was aware of the school rules and is a legal adult then he or she has the right to withdraw themselves from the school if they don't feel that they can follow the rules.
If the poster is a minor, things become a lot more murky...
When in doubt, talk to your school administrator.. I am sure most of them are decently versed in case law regarding confiscation.
