Until Leopard is out we wont see the true value of these babies. Also by then some of the apps will take advantage of the muti-cores and multi-cpus, and the changes to the OS will allow applications not written for more than 1 core to take some advantage also. So like I said Leopard will be the one showing the true potential of these babies. Can't wait!!!!!!!
The fact that the new iMacs can't address more than 3Gb of memory and are therefore operating on a 32bit logic-board makes me doubtful as to whether or not these systems are really 64-bit capable... It seems like some kind of hybrid 32/64bit system.
Will the C2D iMacs be able to run 64bit code, despite not having the 64bit address space (and being able to access over 4Gb or RAM)?

I'd say a refresh of the Mac Mini and/or iMac might happen. Why would they call both of the existing models 'early 2006' (esp. the mini) in this page.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303315
Because that's when they were released.

Disney CEO Rob Iger today announced that Disney has sold over 125,000 movies (http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articlehybrid.aspx?storyID=urn:newsml:reuters.com:20060919:MTFH56918_2006-09-19_16-45-09_N19399790&type=comktNews&rpc=44) through the iTunes Movie store in the past week alone, totaling $1 million in revenue. In addition, Iger said the company expects over $50 million in revenue over the first year of the program.
During last week's Showtime event, the long-rumored "iTunes Movie Store" debuted (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/09/20060912154141.shtml) (now termed "iTunes Store") with 75 films from Disney-owned subsidaries. A successful launch may increase pressure on other studios still holding out on Apple's buy-to-own terms.

Airfoil still needs the Airfoil installed on your computer to work, it won't run with just the iOS apps. I think pika2000 is asking about iOS apps that emulate an airport express, so that you could send the same audio to every device in your house.
Well, you CAN send the same audio to every device in your house, as long as the audio originates on your Mac (which includes simply plugging in any iOS device or iPod into your Mac).

Some PC ship with FW, but not many. It is considered a Mac only interface.
That's because intel and the peecee vendors crippled it. Mac's all have normal firewire ports. Every peecee and windows laptop I've ever seen has the micro-firewire ports that are normally only for portable end devices like video cameras and camcorders. The micro ports do not provide bus power either!
Imagine if they did that with USB, instead of putting the normal USB ports on your Dell or HP laptop, they put the micro USB ports like you find on a cell phone, and also took away the bus-power, so thumb drives wouldn't work, and any USB device would require an external A/C adapter. That would have completely destroyed USB as a technology and nobody would have used it. Well, that's *exactly* what they did to Firewire.

There are people trying to paint this as though any tablet or mobile phone is similar to the rest so Apple has no case. Not true. Apple is suing one company for a copy so close that it is hard to see the difference.

Looks like Apple copied palm just changed the background to white and the icons to a square!
LOL - right. And that pinch and zoom feature on the palm was tremendous.

First of all I am not complaining. So don't jump to conclusions.
I am stating the obvious. DVD frame size is better than 640x480 frame size.
I acknowledge that the itunes movies are probably good. I just saying that I rather have the DVD frame size and quality. Plus I can have a physical DVD for back up with bonus, extras etc. It's just a preference.
Frame size is bigger but its also interlaced, so in truth its 720x240 every other frame, once its deinterlaced, the picture can get close to the original, but not as good as pure progressive scan. I think, i might take 640x480p over 720x480i, depends on how widescreen is handled (letterboxing vs true widescreen).

If you are looking for that, the most likely timeframe will be during the release of Leopard as it will release those 4 or 8 cores to do their thing.

And then there's a thing called the speed limit. Doesn't matter if she did 45, 55, or 65. She's still in the right.
You're getting your 16 year old, testosterone panties in a twist yet you admit that you went over the speed limit that you cherish so much by at least 20mph. You admit you (but not in so many words because you have that 16yo complex of I gotta be right) drove recklessly all to teach a lesson that is really not yours to teach. That is for the highway patrol and driving school.
Regardless of what your inexperienced mind may believe, she was in the right and actually doing nothing wrong. She was traveling the speed limit. She was minding her own business until a little 16yo know-it-all comes along driving with minimum experience and equally inexperienced driver next to him.
Unfortunate for you this seems to be a running trait in your family. Inexperience. Just because your uncle is a sitting judge doesn't make him a god. On the contrary, he's as idiotic and inexperienced as you.
Now kid, no matter how much you slap those jaws of yours together you are wrong. We don't care that your mommy was sitting next you or that your uncle is the judge. Go ahead a drive however you want. Frankly I see your kind every day on the road.
I'm that guy over in the left lane driving 70. I'm that guy you have to race up to and ride my bumper and zoom past me flipping me off.
But I'm the guy that's laughing at you because honestly at the end of the day, you are just a little 16yo with a giant ego stuck up your rear.
You're also the guy that will wreck his car because I force you to, and you're also the guy that I will then sue to pay for my deductible and any applicable medical costs. And I'm the guy that will laugh in your face and say "gonna move for me next time?" as I walk out of court and you cut me a check.
I'm sorry, but if you're the guy that goes 70mph in the fast lane and refuses to move, you are at fault for what ever I chose to dish out to you, for not having the common courtesy to move your car.

My thoughts exactly.
FWIW $50M/year is ~0.2% of Disney's revenue (they made ~$30B/year for the past few years). Definitely not chicken feed, but not earth shattering either.

There's an interesting ongoing discussion and analysis on the Forensic Focus website (http://www.forensicfocus.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&printertopic=1&t=6758&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20). For example, this:
As an example of the information recorded under controlled conditions, I joined a single access point on a freshly restored iPad. I had location services turned off and airplane mode switched on. I never moved from my office chair, the phone was also connected to a cell tower using 3G on O2. By just joining the wireless access point my ipad was populated with 379 access point locations and 122 cell tower locations.
From my office I can see at a push 4 wifi access points and some of the cell towers were 22KM away. There is no way I would connect to some of the cell towers or access points recorded from where I am located.

If a few people on MacRumors find me to be childish, I really couldn't care less. Believe me, what you guys think of me is not going to ruin my chances of getting into an Ivy League school, or from becoming a successful adult.

Hmm and my opinion of Ivy League schools goes down more.
Shows that many who go in and come out of there are unethical. Explains why so much wrong with the country because it is lead by the unethical people.
Like I said before I hope and pray you never get in position that requires ethics because clearly you have none and your parents fail to teach you any.
That and it looks like you come from family with out ethics.

How does streaming music to my iPhone help me, when O2 cap my Internet usage, and then charge when you use more.
It won't, but if you have iTunes on a computer at home, it could save you on constantly replacing worn out hard drives before they crash and lose all your library.

With the decent graphics and these C2D's they make the iMac a formiddable machine. Alot of PowerMac's are going to be replaced by these new iMac's i feel. Probably Apple's most impressive, solid and reliable machine at the moment
No one who needs powerful graphics could go for anything except maybe the 24". The x1600 is pretty low-end for a mid-range desktop by now, and the nvidea 7600 is not bad but certainly not a powerhouse. And why would you say that the imacs are more "impressive, solid, and reliable" than the mac pros? Better values, maybe, but more impressive, solid, and reliable?

I don't see why this will it make cheaper. Beside MBA price lowered drastically from the previous iteration and had good sales recently because of it - so, don't hope too much about it.
True. I'm guessing that Apple has found the right price point. Now that the 13" Pro has been updated, it is probably cannibalizing sales of the 13" Air, which may be why the sales have reportedly dropped so much. At the same time, Samsung and others have competing designs with the Core i5.
I don't game, so I'd definitely consider putting the 11" up for sale and getting the 11" Sandy Bridge model. Perhaps I'll wait for them to appear as refurbs. If history is any guide, that would be the October timeframe, assuming these do come out in June.

They act as a clearing house, kind of like the United Way in the US. Programs are run by other groups.
Most of the money is earmarked for tuberculosis and malaria, less than half is spent on HIV-related programs.
Spending is not restricted to women and children. Programs are evaluated for their ability to work against discriminatory effects, and in many parts of the world that will mean that men need less help.
This is not only for some countries in Africa. Funds are sent to all but the richest parts of the world.
