Kind of a huge gap, don'cha think? For an extra $100 I can nearly TRIPLE the capacity? Why would I even consider a 30 GB model?
Actually $100 is a lot of money. Especially if you don't need the capacity.
The main thing for me though is size. The difference in width is only a few tenths of an inch but the 30G is definitely slim and it feels pretty light in the hand. I'm not sure that's really the case with the 60G/80G. The iPod is primarily a portable device afterall.

I'm just a regular iPhone user...not a developer. I just want my phone work. And I want the apps to be fully vetted and tested before they are available for download. RA's action doesn't make me dislike the iPhone, Mac computers, or Apple. In fact, quite the opposite. It makes RA look childish. I say...good riddance. Oh, and I'm also now less likely to purchase other software from RA. Just sayin'

Sounds like a pretty convincing reason to move to Sweden if you are an American.
Canada is sounding awfully good to me right now.

If it is a 4 GB iPod, it has to be a Nano, right???
What else, could it be??
http://flickr.com/photos/vi2867/267917812/
You have to link to the images, not the flickr page.
And that's just the U2 special edition iPod.

Actually this is completely untrue.
Last week I signed a secret, completely exclusive, contract with Apple for the iPhone. It'll only work on my home's DECT network.
Despite this, I'm expecting millions of sales. People will buy it despite peharrinet's complete lack of coverage. So I don't have a problem with that.
BTW, you'll need to agree to a 36 month contract, our base plan is just $50 a month and comes with unlimited mobile to mobile, plus three "anytime" minutes (charged in five minute increments.) Excess airtime is just $1/minute.

Maybe this MacBook Pro update will incorporate a retina display which the high resolution wallpaper in Lion hints at.
Guys... seriously. Retina displays aren't happening on anything larger than your iPhone for a while. I don't care what size icons or wallpapers have been spotted. The cost for screens of that resolution at that size would be absurd.

As long as it doesnt shudder with the OS X animations and it plays 1080p smoothly, why does it matter? Do people really game on an Air?
Because people are stupid, that's why.
No one realistically games on a Macbook Air. And the SNB IGP is actually very capable. Their GMA offerings have generally always been crap but the 3000 is quite the opposite.
That said, the main use for the Air is as an ultraportable. And the improved battery life and lowered heat output are major advantages for an ultraportable that only a moron would ignore.

yep i smell both the aperture update,
and hopefully the merom MBP, don't think that the macbook will be updated with merom, they need to differentiate their pro and consumer lines. also, by using the core duo chips in the macbook, perhaps they can lower the price by $100 as the cpu cost is coming down from intel with the new merom out.

I don't know if i can. Give me some time. But doesn't it make sense that if u stop using something that killed disease spreading insects that the insects will continue to spread the disease?
What if the DDT destroys frogs and kills birds? They are two of the mosquitoes biggest enemies. That will obviously only make the problem worse, won't it?
Malaria is a big killer but mosquito nets can make an enormous difference as well as education about what causes malaria.
Reaching for a can of toxic chemicals isn't always the best solution. If we don't approach a problem holistically, all we do is create more problems down the road.
Do you know what PCBs are? Did you know that small Aleutian Islands qualify for EPA cleanup (http://juneauempire.com/stories/081197/toxins.html)even though no PCBs have ever been on the island?
Higher levels of PCBs were found in otters taken from Adak than from otters taken off the coast of California, the scientists said. Their findings were reported in a study published last month in the journal Marine Pollution Bulletin.
Enough DDT was found in egg samples from eagles on Kiska Island to indicate the pesticide may be harming the bird's ability to reproduce in one of the nation's most remote areas, scientists said.

So when is the ACD gonna support thunderbolt?
Likely never. At least by Apple. That is old school tech that they want you to replace.

Quoted from an older thread that has been left behind:
Somebody cast doubt on the HDMI thing, I don't know - just seemed like the easiest option to get video into an iMac. You don't have to worry about all the different methods of getting TV (free to air, digital, cable) because if you have a HDMI-enabled receiver it would just plug into the back of the iMac. You'd need to use the receiver's remote to do all the channel changing but Apple could offer some sort of recording program. EyeHome could do something with it too? I'm no expert, just trying to look at a simple solution for a complicated, fragmented problem.I'm also not sure about the bittorrent thing. It's nice in theory, but even with bittorrent, movies will take a while to download. The problem with that is that you can't watch a bittorrent movie until the whole thing has downloaded, whereas with traditional quicktime downloads, you can start watching as soon as you have a decent enough buffer. And iTMS is all about instant gratification.

Handbrake FPS readings vary a lot between the analysis pass and the writing pass - much slower writing on the second pass than studying-planning the writing scheme on the first pass on both the Quad and the Mac Pro.
That's because the second pass only uses one core.

No one else has yet mentioned that the Airport Extreme is currently reflecting a 1-3 week shipping period (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/1.RSLID?mco=B842E400&nplm=M8799LL%2FA), while the Airport Express (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/1.RSLID?mco=7D88DA55&nplm=M9470LL%2FA) still says it will ship within 24 hours on the Apple Store Online. It would seem that it is the Extreme and not the Express to be getting the update.

Wow, and I'm the immature one???
guess what.
This thread could be enough to get a warrant to prove your who you are.
Also Arn could easily hand over you IP tracing you down even father along with your email address which is all legal and could be submitted to court as he freely handed over his privates data to the cops.
sure Arn could do that, but then the cops have to prove that I actually did this, and they also have to prove who at my house typed this. It could be me, it could be my mother, it could be my brother, it could be my grandmother. There is no way to know who actually typed this. That's where it all falls apart.
OP, I do find it amusing you think you know the intricacies of the law just because your uncle is a judge
Until you have the education/training yourself, I would not be so confident in your opinions...especially as one who has not even finished hs
I also advise you to stop digging yourself in a hole. I feel you are rapidly losing any credibility/respect that many long time posters previously had of you due to this very, and I mean very childish and selfish mindset you are exhibiting in this thread
If a few people on MacRumors find me to be childish, I really couldn't care less. Believe me, what you guys think of me is not going to ruin my chances of getting into an Ivy League school, or from becoming a successful adult.

Who also owns the trademark "Mighty Mouse", which Apple licensed. I think he might be onto something. More then likely, the product is called "Showtime".
Or... the iSHow? :D
My money's on a new iPod Hi-fi. How cool would that be? Huh? Huh??
I am quite excited though. It doesn't seem like a new video iPod is on the cards just yet but maybe some other new gadgets are about to make thei debut.
I do like the idea of the metal nano too.
I'll be hooked to Macrumors next week anyway!

Great news that Kentsfield is coming early, however I am curious to see what Apple does with it (if anything). Since it is based on the Conroe chipset, and Apple has elected not to incorporate Conroe into any of the Mac line-up (yet), I wonder what Kentsfield's role will be (if any) in the Mac world.
Once again, all signs point towards that Conroe Mini-tower... ;) :D
