strange, I'm currently in Las Vegas according to this app, I've never been to LV in my life. It does however accurately give a tracking of my phone at home in the UK and my trip to East Coast of USA last year.

I really am completely appalled at the OP's attitude here. I've not read all of the posts in this thread but I haven't yet seen one single person agree with him, and he continues to be so arrogant as to think he's in the right?
People like you, Don, completely sicken me. I wasn't surprised that you were driving an M5, although that's probably stereotypical of me. Your parents are a disgrace, and your uncle too. In fact your whole family is a hideous representation of the worst side of the human race. You should not be driving an M5 aged 16. If only the US laws were more like over here in the UK, you wouldn't even have started learning to drive yet, and even then learners are not allowed to drive anything that has a 2 litre engine or more.
Somehow, I don't think you're going to grow up anytime soon. I hope, someday soon, you get taught the lesson you deserve. If I had the chance I'd be first in line.

Sure, your entire post just screams at what a safe driver you are. :rolleyes:I bet if your parents saw a post like this they would take away your car. You are a menace.
See above. A parent was in the car and actively encouraged me to cut the idiot off. My family's general philosophy (in regards to driving) is be aggressive and intimidate people who try to screw with you; it always results in you winning (it also helps when your uncle presides over the traffic court in town).

I don't care what it is, just give us something new to talk about. Mac Pro really nice machine but we saw it coming months in advance. Maybe not he exact spec but yeah we all knew it was coming. Same with Merom, Conroe etc... Give us something new, really new.
Get used to the new way. The only real suprise news from now on willl be specific software features, cosmetics and any new details not widely anticipated. The primary processor and platform/form factors are likely to remain unsurprising.
Furthermore, chip advances just took a big leap. Do not expect that again for 2 or more years.

Backlit keyboard on it and I am in. Perfect form factor and feature set for what I do all day every day. And less weight in my bag
Currently have the 13 mbp and would love to get a MBA to lighten my load.

Evolution of the "Operating System."
It has to happen sometime and in some form.
Apple is doing it. if you have any better ideas that *will* raise the bar and represent the Gold Standard for the rest of the industry, please let Apple know. They might be hiring.
Evolution?? No
Transformation?? Yes
I'd like "spaces" the way it is now, it's perfect.

They don't want to call their store "MobileApp" because they already have a store. It's called "Marketplace".
They would however like to describe their store that called "Marketplace" by saying that it is a store that sells apps. You know, an app store.
It is a market that sells apps. You know, and app market. No need for them to describe it as an App Store since that description would not fly over anyone's head.

Guys they've already told us what the next update will be. Remember the MBA commercial, "the future of MacBook" or whatever the actual words were.. Which means no optical, a ssd, and a core2duo with 320m..
Ahhh the future

Apple should chime back and argue that Internet Explorer is too generic. The term internet needs no explanation, and the term Explorer already existed as well as to represent searching and discovering things.
I mean, if App Store and it's common connotation between mobile users as referring to APPLE's App Store isn't enough proof for Apple, how could MS make a rebuttal to the above claims?
Exactly what needs to happen ^^^^
Down with Windows and it's viruses, crashing, terrible OS's and general disposable nature.

They'll change the key and force a firmware update on any airport express user who wants to update itunes.
Are the 3rd party AirPlay speakers firmware upgradable?
http://www.apple.com/itunes/airplay/
That will break compatibility with those speakers.
arn
The marantz one is, you have to pay $40 to uPgrade firmware to get AirPlay working at all. At least you did with early versions, not sure about current versions, AirPlay may work without upgrade with those.

Gapless was the #1 request?? Holy cow! Then what took them so friggin long?
I've been under the impression that gapless was only desired by 0.000001% of the users, and therefore Apple didn't give a damn about it. I assumed that the other 99.999999% of users only listen to shuffle mode and don't care about traditional albums. Seems pretty reasonable based on what's popular these days. But the #1 request? Surely this should have been fixed in the 2nd generation iPod then, 3rd generation at the latest.
I'm not complaining, this just really, really surprises me. I'm so happy to see that it's fixed, finally, so I can go out and buy a replacement iPod soon, after holding out for over a year. Better days are here to stay. ;)

Only in America.... Bad form unless it was in defence. How about non lethal take downs, fair courts and appropriate justice, such as jail with community service, get criminals doing something constructive for society and trying to get them back on track?
The right to carry guns and to kill absolutely baffles me. Surely shooting and killing is a worser crime than stealing? The threat of being shot/killed sounds too authoritarian/totalitarian for me.
I can't believe the mentality of people on these forums sometimes! Each to their own I guess... Democracy and all...
It was in defence. And no one has the "right" to kill, it's a necessary evil that has to be allowed in certain instances. You'd have to be a dunce to not see that lethal force is sometimes required.

I know it says Instead of a video iPod, they believe a video streaming device. As others have stated, this doesn't seem to be enough to warrant a "Special Media Event".
What if this rumor is half right: There is a new video streaming device ready to be demoed, but the "one more thing" could be that there is a video iPod also ready, and the movie service works the same way with it as the iTMS, but the video iPod can also stream the videos to your TV. There are limitations, such as battery life, but it could be limited to just being able to stream when the video iPod is connected to a power supply.
Just a thought....:rolleyes:You're right, it doesn't have to be either or. It could and should be both. iTunes will download the movies in high resolution (at least 480p) for the living room but also simultaneously compress down the movies for the iPod like it does with photos.
Anyways, don't discount this video-streaming Airport express hardware, especially if it has an IR receiver so that you can control Front Row 100% from the living room. It could be a pretty big improvement over the current setup which forces you to interact with your computer screen for these living room functions. Apple is smart to seperate them.

They are Dolby Surround, not Dolby Digital. Dolby Surround is just matrixed stereo audio.
Aren't you contradicting yourself? iTS movies are in 5.1, so they are in fact Dolby Digital (encoded in the AC3 or MP4 format).

Appleinsider is indeed putting out a lot of info.
Thats the scary part..
Could well be Apple is going after Appleinsider like it did with Thinksecret by "feeding it" tons of misleading info to get the "other rat"..

Right off the bat, I have two final generation Powerbook G4s (one is mine, one is my son's) so I figured that it would be a good side by side test for the new video formats.
I went to iTunes and grabbed a copy of Grosse Pointe Blank and popped the DVD version in for a side by side test.
I have to say that the quality on the iTunes version was very great. There are portions of the video where the quality definitely look better than the DVD version played back through the Apple DVD Player and portions that without a doubt look significantly worse.
When it comes to Title Sequences (Credits and some text overlays in the begining), the DVD wins hands down as the edges get a very choppy on the iTunes version.
When it comes to your normal scenes where people are talking and not much is going on, the iTunes version seems to have the edge (less pixelized backgrounds, appears to have greater detail around edges of fairly stationary objects, etc.).
When it comes to high action sequences, it really is a toss up between the two as neither really look that great (substantial bluring around moving objects).
For the parts of the show that matter, I would say that h264 (iTunes) scales better on larger high resolution screens than MPEG2 (DVD).
I plan on grabbing some stills and editing them together at the seams to see if there really is a noticable difference or if my eyes are playing tricks on me, but that will have to wait for a couple days.
