Only on UNOPENED product. If you've opened it, you gotta pony up 10% restocking fee, if you bought from apple. They will refund money if there is a price drop in that timeframe, though.
o *****.... i knew for a fact that there was gonna be some sort of catch!!
but 10% restocking fee??? isn't that a bit too much?
so what do you think, is new ipod literally worth procuring with the sacrifice of 10% restocking fee, when the only difference is the brighter screen, 1.5 more hr of video play time, search function, ....etc??
i'm confsed!!

Isn't that the same thing as assigning priorities to processes in OS X? Terminal or Developer Tools already do that, as well as several freeware apps...
No, not at all.
An affinity mask sets the set of CPUs that can be scheduled. A job won't be run on another CPU, even if the assigned CPUs are at 100% and other idle CPUs are available.
And that, by the way, is why setting affinity is usually a bad idea. Let the system dynamically schedule across all available resources -- or you might have some CPUs very busy, and others idle.
Win2k3 also has "soft" affinity masks, which define a preferred set of CPUs. If all of the preferred CPUs are busy, and other CPUs are idle, then soft affinity allows the system to run the jobs on the idle CPUs - even though the idle CPUs aren't in the preferred affinity mask.

Apple has never cared about the user, this is not news. Apple only care about one thing: money
What does this even mean? "Apple has never cared about the user?" Perhaps you can teach us, then, how Apple has enjoyed so much success despite "never caring for the user."
Or was it simply fun to write those sentences?

An anonymous source claims that U2's Bono will announce a RED (http://www.joinred.com/) version of Apple's 4 GB iPod tomorrow during his appearance on Oprah. The show was apparently taped today in Chicago, and Oprah.com (http://www.oprah.com/) has the following to say about tomorrow's show:
Get "red"-y! It's something so huge, it took Opray, Bono and a convertible to make it happen! Plus, Penelope Cruz and Kanye West are in on it! An extraordinary launch! [...] Chicago goes "red" today and this is just the beginning!
The show was apparently taped today, and will be aired tomorrow, October 13th. Rumors of a RED iPod (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/01/20060131123048.shtml) have been circulating since January. According to our source, the RED iPod would be priced similarly to current 4 GB models at $199, with $10 (5%) of each sale going to The Global Fund to help women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa, where some countries have over 30% of the population affected by the disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDS_pandemic#Sub-Saharan_Africa).

Well, it would surprise me. USB3.0 and Thunderbolt will come included in Intel''s Ivy Bridge. Apple would have to add more hardware and disable USB 3.0 to make it 2.0 only. Makes zero cents.
Who are you to comment on the potential profitability of said move?

I say again Laguna, are you really liable to get these two pieces of hardware (manufacturing branding and all) confused?
I simply can't see it, especially with the huge size discrepancy.

Well here at work I could replace 4 PC draughting workstations with a Conroe based system. We already have 23" monitors so we are not going to purchase iMacs, and while Mac Pro's are nice they are too expensive for us... A $1500 headless system would do wonders! (and yes the mini is too little).
If Apple cannot release such a system we will have to continue purchasing PCs... :(
What I was getting at that I hear people aren't getting a Mac Pro (which is very quick) and a waiting for the Kentsfield or Clovertown Mac Pros which haven't even been considered to b released yet.

I love my unibody. So I may have to stock up before the change. Ha ha. :D
My first thought tho was carbon fiber. Seems like there were some rumors about that. But I'm sure the aluminum body helps in cooling. So I wonder how CF would work. Perhaps a hybrid config.

that top spec 27" is never going to happen, it will have 4GB RAM and a i5 processor with BTO option of a i7
Hate to say it but IMHO you are completely wrong there. Look at the refreshed MBP and then read your statement, nearly ALL the current gen MBP have i7 processors.
Based on this I would guess that ALL iMac models will too, with the exception of the entry me el iMac.
Personally I am hoping for a decent GPU; although I'm primarily an xbox gamer I do enjoy the odd month of WoW and steam gaming.

Wow, and I'm the immature one???
guess what.
This thread could be enough to get a warrant to prove your who you are.
Also Arn could easily hand over you IP tracing you down even father along with your email address which is all legal and could be submitted to court as he freely handed over his privates data to the cops.
sure Arn could do that, but then the cops have to prove that I actually did this, and they also have to prove who at my house typed this. It could be me, it could be my mother, it could be my brother, it could be my grandmother. There is no way to know who actually typed this. That's where it all falls apart.
OP, I do find it amusing you think you know the intricacies of the law just because your uncle is a judge
Until you have the education/training yourself, I would not be so confident in your opinions...especially as one who has not even finished hs
I also advise you to stop digging yourself in a hole. I feel you are rapidly losing any credibility/respect that many long time posters previously had of you due to this very, and I mean very childish and selfish mindset you are exhibiting in this thread
If a few people on MacRumors find me to be childish, I really couldn't care less. Believe me, what you guys think of me is not going to ruin my chances of getting into an Ivy League school, or from becoming a successful adult.

The new 'pod pricing seems to be at the old Education Store levels anyway. So basically they got rid of it for students and gave it to everyone.
That's right, the 5G 60Gb was $369 normally, and with the Educational discount it was $349, and the 30Gb was the same way $269 vs. $249. I least I think that's right?

Also, android has free anti-virus scanners available in there market. Apple may have some too. I think mcafee is just trying to sell product, but if I was them i would want to sell my product to EVERY person who had Android or iOS based phone, simply because that is a VERY large user base.
I am constantly amazed at the number of people who buy into this crap!
Here, I'll try to spell it out for you:
Apple has no antivirus for IOS because it would be completely useless. In order for a virus to get through to an IOS device it has to get past Apple's reviewers. That's the only way to install software of any kind on IOS, including malware.

I'm salaried (aka "Exempt") in my job. We used to clock in and out but they made us quit several years ago and now there is no tracking of our hours. I was told at the time it was a legal requirement that we not be made to clock in and out.
In any event, there are rules defining what jobs are and are not eligible as exempt. There are lots of references online with information.
http://www.ehow.com/facts_5179644_exempt-salary-vs_-non-exempt.html
There is an upside to being exempt. While it's true I don't get paid extra if I work 45 hours this week, I will also not be paid less if I work 35 hours next week. In my job one is just as likely as the other.
Mind me asking you how high your unemployment rate is, and do you believe what your media tells you is true, or is the rate much higher than what is known?
