wonder how this effects people(me) with a 4-5 week window that ordered last week ?

Wouldn't a 4-5 week wait last week equal to a 3-4 weeks this week? I think they're still taking orders for the same batch essentially.

the whole thing seems to point into direction against muslims believes, because most western europeans and governments seem to lump them all together in one big pot ..muslim..must be a murder and terrorist and a destroyer of democracy and in the same way it is argued that muslims punish their wifes as they please in the name of allah

so i guess if we dont count these extremist hate preachers then we are left with the fact that muslims are just human beings like christians, jews, buddhists, atheists,.......... sorry to lazy to list all the religions on earth dont even know all of them or how many different religions there are
as in the "Humanist" philosophy, each persons religious theology is unique, therefore the answer would be equal to the current population of the Earth and thats changing constantly
and if we want to live together in peace it would be a good idea if all sides would start to respect each other and would not take our self to serious and try to find a compromise all can live with, as that would be true democracy, everything else is just a lie

Except, Apple says that they actually do access the location database:

Glad someone actually read the press release unlike the rest of the idiots in this thread.

OWC did a lower quality teardown of the top of the range 27" model

To clarify, I'll wait for the "iFixit teardown" of the 27" model to make a comment. Guessing about what's underneath fuzzy shots of heat sinks isn't useful.

In any case, though, it's more to know what you're getting. Oversubscribed interfaces can be very useful - most of our connections are oversubscribed.

I'd just like to know up front whether and how the bandwidth is shared between the two TBolt ports. Apple can make it very hard to understand those details.

My guess is .5 will be released when they are good a ready. Vista will be sucking the air out of the room for a couple months so Leopard would be lost in the heavy panting.

I don't know what .5 will bring (other then the announced features) but with all the work Apple did to get it on Intel I wouldn't be surprised to see a portable version of the OS on a cell phone (with all the pertinent apps) or ipod like device as well as portable home folders.

Anyone else remember when w95 was released? It took MS almost a year to start generating real sales. Most of that was due to the learning curve of the interface fears. Vista is a much larger leap GUI-wise and the new Office is even a larger jump. It is going to take a few months maybe a year before we see large Vista sales...prime time to convert people to something else.

I think you're confusing Macrumors with Engadget. That place is so full of hate I'm surprised it doesn't catch on fire. Thankfully most people here are either die-hard Apple fans or general lovers of tech who can debate without killing each other. :apple:

So some one can find you by your shoe transmitter if they are up to 60 feet away and know where to aim the antenna. Seem t be you'd have to have a pretty good idea of there to look or the shoe transmitter detecter is not going to be of much use.

In another story, we have just determined that your car has a unique identifier attached. It is in the form of a painted metal plate with embossed and painted numbers. These numbers uniquely identified the car and likely the driver too. They can be read without specialized equipment form as for as 50 feet and with simple optical aids (binoculars) from as for as 100 years. Seems like a huge security risk if you ask me.

Then again, iPhone 5 could still come out in the not too distant future and iPhone 4, black and now white versions could become the new $49 phones like the 3Gs is now.

Unless you are suggesting something has changed in the last two years what has the date of the article got to do with it,if it has changed please supply a source(no your relatives won't do).If you insist on presenting your personal prejudices as fact this discussion will go nowhere.I'm still waiting for a source for the 800000 people who can work but don't by the way.

Okay, the article I read a while ago. But here it is: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/2176336/Incapacity-benefit-claimed-by-more-than-800000.html

The don't want to work, but can work, went a little far, but please read, it's interesting. I was getting more to the point of welfare dependancy. Anyhow, it's best I don't reply, I havent' slept since my night shift, around 27 hours now. So best not for me to try and debate things. On that note, sleep time. Zz

Independent studies have found Wikipedia to be about as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica, with Wikipedia having longer articles that Britannica.

But the damn site is all voluntary, no real authority. People could change something on less looked at articles and nobody'd no the difference! My sister's professors do not allow their students to you Wikipedia! Just because something's longer doesn't mean it's bettter! If you've ever used Encyclopaedia Brittanica or the World Book, the authors are pros on the subject, not just some bum that's obcessed with Google!

I am glad that my sentiment reflects the majority on here.

If this is really what is about to be revealed, its not really that much of a big deal and most wont use it (except out of curiosity).

I appreciate the whole SJ henry ford quote and all, but his is really an unusable concept for the majority that like to be in control.

    My opinion.

I agree - if this new cloud merely gives online storage to iTunes-purchased music, then this is not very exciting.

    However...

    1. I'm betting that the online storage of iTunes-purchased songs will be a free service, and will be in addition to the copy you download as you always have.

    2. I'm betting that - despite the majority of opposing opinions - that you will also be able to upload some of your non-iTunes purchased music, and that a certain amount of space, like a few gigs, will be free.

    3. I'm betting that iDisk will be a part of this (although it will likely be re-branded) and, therefore, you will be able to use some of that free space to upload documents.

I guess my point is that I think/hope Apple will be offering at least a little more than you mentioned and, more importantly, the "basic plan" will be free of charge.

I think this is a great idea, but not for everyone.

It would work very well on the 15" or 17" pro models, which would be great for field work. I shoot short films a few times a year, and it would be great to have an edit deck in the field. Im guessing Photoshop users and DJs giving live performances would love it as well. Plus it would provide Apple with a bit of distinction between the macbook & macbook pro lines. Maybe Final Cut Studio would ship with the attachment, aperture might ship with the tablet etc. And it can either ne half the size of the mackbook base (so you keep the keyboard section) or full size and you just have an area or function on the insert for handwrittern text regognition (so you can still name files, add titles etc).

But I can definitely agree with a previous post about education. We arent that far off from having every school pupil with a laptop. Instead of carrying around coursebooks for different subjects, all your class texts will be on your school network or laptop, and what you would carry instead would be a a tablet insert for art class, an edit deck for music & media class, etc.

    Great thinking apple!

Why ask me something I've already answered? Because whether she made a bad decision or not is beside the question. If we were all liable to prosecution for bad decisions, there would be nobody left to pass judgement.

Ha ha ha! Way to prove you arent a Samsung rep..."3 iPad's down", give me a break, nobody could go through 3 iPad 2's with how tight supply has been. Take a hike.

ignorant much? iPad #1 arrives with bleed, make genius bar appt and they put one aside for me (from stock reserved for these issues) - go in and identify identical issue in store with iPad #2. I hold on to iPad #1 and they order a replacement (iPad #3) - I receive call from Genius bar that it's arrived and they have checked it over for me (thank you, saving the drive) and identify identical issue on iPad #3 - count em 1,2,3 - waiting of 4

Well, it's been 21 days since the MacWorld keynote; January only has one day left.

And we have seen zero announcements related to the Mac. We have seen iPhone, :apple:tv, AirPort Extreme, and now iPod shuffle and 802.11n enabler announcements, but no actual Mac, announcements, other than a couple new TV commercials, and the official revelation that 64-bit Intel Macs have come with 802.11n hardware.

We have seen no actual new hardware, no new software, not even price changes.

Dammit, Apple, either change the name of the conference to "AppleWorld", or release some freakin' Mac stuff! I've been putting off my HD camcorder purchase to see if iLife '07 will support AVCHD. I would really like to have my camcorder bought before I leave for vacation in the middle of February. At least ANNOUNCE iLife '07, with specs, even if it isn't released. I'd really like an AVCHD camcorder over an HDV, but not if iLife can't edit its video.

Everybody already knows Apple's product release schedule, so to attract more clicks, the bloggers/analysts start making up off-schedule releases rumors. ;) I mean saying new iPhones coming in June is not "hot news" anymore after a while.

To me, if Apple sell the iPhone 5 unlocked in the US, I'll buy. If not, no buy. I'll be looking for the LG G2x instead.

I hope they also fix the Trust center where I can allow opening of Macro-enabled files without having to run a fricking authentication server in Windows 7.
